Why 'The Crimson Feminine?'
Welcome to The Crimson Feminine!
I am the sole writer, Rae.

I was inspired to create The Crimson Feminine project at around 3:34am during a Saturday, in the hopes of engaging a small, enthusiastic audience to read my analysis of classical books, snippets of my own poetry, as well as having the freedom to express personal social and political commentaries.
I am a young writer, analyst and a huge fan of delving into the deeper meanings of, well, everything.
The title 'The Crimson Feminine' is inspired by many anecdotes of my daily life. I am currently writing a short (well, currently short- I'm not one to shy away from overwriting) story about a 'Crimson Feminine'- or as many call her, a 'Red Woman'- completely euphemistic for our femme fatales, the 'dangerous seductresses', or the 'fille de joie'- whose own self confidence overwhelms the fragility of societies so unused to female empowerment and independence.
It is also inspired by writers such as Angela Carter, who can weave words about sensuality, passion, and enlightenment so effortlessly when exploring the limitations of man and exceeding the expectations of what it means to be a woman in a dangerous hybrid of a 20th century socio-political mind traversing the boundaries of (almost) medieval in comparison landscapes of both soul and location.

In many ways, it is also inspired by myself as an aspiring female writer- unafraid to speak the truth, yet easily hidden under blankets of metaphors and euphemisms as I come to terms with what it means to own such a title.

I hope you can engage with my work and enjoy glimpses into my mind and thought processes upon reading my posts- please do not attempt to plagiarise for personal/business use and kindly give credit if it is due :)
